Making It Real – 21st Century Skills

A key aspect of the General English course is the development of the skills needed for further education and study. Students will look at how to critically evaluate and critique information as well as how to communicate their thoughts clearly and decisively with others. Skills such as collaboration, teamwork, presentation skills, research and analysis are all vital in the modern world, and our General English course works to develop these skills in a fun and engaging environment.

How You’ll Learn: Time to Shine

Through the Time to Shine projects, our students are challenged to work on their 21st century skills through project work throughout the course. Culminating in the Time to Shine ceremony at the end of each week, these projects include debates, public speaking and multimedia presentations. The Time to Shine Programme gives the students a chance to work creatively and independently together in a supported environment. By working together on projects in a diverse environment, students will also learn to collaborate effectively as part of a team, nurturing their sense of social and cross-cultural awareness.
